Once I figured out that silence is a burden, writing about trauma has not been difficult. The first time I wrote about my trauma was in my victim impact statement that I prepared for my perpetrator’s sentencing. I was paralyzed with fear at that point. That was three years ago-- I’m glad writing about trauma has become an outlet and not a source of fear.
